Session

Picture
The Session consists of the pastors and twelve elders elected to active service.  They are responsible for the governance and mission of the church, as well as providing for the spiritual growth and care of church members. All elders serve on one or more committees of the Session.  The current committees are: Faith Formation, Fellowship, Membership, Stewardship, Finance, Personnel, Mission and Worship. Individual elders are elected to represent the Session on the congregation’s Nominating Committee and the Nursery School Board, as well as to represent the congregation at meetings of Lehigh Presbytery.  Elders are invited to volunteer to serve as liturgists and communion servers for worship services.

Deacons

Picture
This board provides mission and outreach to the congregation and the greater Easton community. Individual Deacons assist in providing pastoral care to members of the congregation, and extend the concern of the congregation to members who are ill, away at school, or are otherwise in need. The Deacons are responsible for distributing the congregation’s contributions to local mission efforts, and for encouraging church members to be personally involved in the work of local mission agencies, especially Safe Harbor, ProJeCt, and Meals on Wheels. Other mission activities include promoting two blood drives per year, and collecting used eyeglasses. The Deacons sponsor the annual Strawberry Festival, and spring and fall rummage sales.  Proceeds from these events support the church’s local mission giving.

Trustees

This board is responsible for care and oversight of the church’s building, grounds and equipment; approving special requests for the use of the building; providing insurance coverage for the church and its activities; raising money for capital improvements; and monitoring the church’s finances and investments.
